During 5 days discover the Wine route of Lisbon region. Start to explore the portuguese capital, then to romantic village of sintra where you will taste some of the best wines produced there. On the third day we will go to the south side of the Tagus River, where we will visit Setubal, a region that has been producing wines for centuries. Finally, still in the region of Setubal, it is time for the discovery of traditional flavors in Azeitão, where you will delight in the famous and irresistible Cheese of Azeitão. But before we finish we have fun for you, participating in a cruise in the bay of Setubal, with lunch and wine tasting in a selection of the best wines of the region. 1st Day | LISBON CITY TOUR: THE SEVEN HILLS AND THE ROYALTY |
On this first day we visit the highlights of the portuguese capital, Lisbon.Lisbon is a city that makes you want to go exploring, to discover whatever might appear in every neighbourhood, on every street. It's a safe and friendly city, relatively small but with so much to see. It's an ideal place to spend a few days or as a starting point for touring the country. It's old. It's modern. It is, without doubt, always surprising. |

In the morning we will start the tour by visiting the most iconic places in Lisbon.
BAIXA (DOWNTOWN) | Sites to visit | Park Edward VII, Avenida da Liberdade, Squares of Rossio and Restauradores, St. Dominic’s church, Ginginha tasting, Baixa Pombalina, Praça do Comércio.
CASTELO DE SÃO JORGE | One of Lisbon’s most distinctive monuments, being situated on the city’s highest hill. It is generally agreed to afford the best view over the city and the River Tagus.
You will guided to an amazing walking tour through the most typical neighborhood of the Portuguese capital| ALFAMA.
LUNCH | Wine Bar & Restaurant in Lisbon
QUARTER BELEM | Belém Tower (16th century), Monastery of Jeronimos (16th century), Monument of Discoveries (20th century), Traditional Milk Custard Tarts of Belém "Pastéis de Belém" (19th century).
MONASTERY OF JERÓNIMOS | Visit one of the most iconic monument of the Portuguese capital. Built in the 16th century, an impressive example of Manueline architecture. The sheer magnificence of the building reflects the universal vision of its founder and the scale of the wealth available to the Crown. This was the starting point of the Portuguese discoveries.
TRADITIONAL PASTRY TASTING | Do not miss the visit to the most ancient pastry in Belém, were will can discover about the history and origin of the Traditional Milk Custard Tarts of Belém "Pastéis de Belém" (19th century).

2nd DAY | SINTRA: LEGENDARY CASTLES | NATURE AND ARCHITETURE |
This will be a day where you will experience romanticism visiting the charming city of Sintra with its palaces and breathtaking landscapes. |
SINTRA is a town of palaces, landscapes, culture, Art and also of great romantics who passed through here. Learn about the ancient myths of Celtic bards, the Moorish legends, the passions of the Christian Reconquest and a masonry that makes this site so unique in the world and yet so magical! There were several romantic figures that have passed in Sintra. From literature to music, the town of Sintra has inspired various figures and dazzled others with its mystical and charming environment. |
In the morning, we visit the Historical Centre of Sintra, with visit to the traditional narrow streets full of flowers and local craft shops, viewpoints, with compulsory stop at the traditional sweets and Ginjinha (cherry liqueur).
Guided Tour the PENA ROYAL PALACE, in the top10 of the most beautiful palaces in the world! A real enchanted palace. One of the most beautiful examples of the romantic revival of the 19th century.

Wine tour with wine tasting | ADEGA REGIONAL DE COLARES, The oldest Cooperative Winery in the country.
The cooperative winery at Colares (Adega Regional de Colares) was founded in 1931. It congregates today more than 50% of the total production, with an important social role in the region. Its beautiful building dates back to the late of 19th century, with an imposing interior housing wooden barrels, casks and vats totaling more than 1 million litters capacity. It is the maturing and aging place par excellence for the wines of this appellation.
Located between Sintra Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean, Colares region encloses the parishes of Colares, S. João das Lampas and S. Martinho, in Sintra district. Colares has been a Demarcated Region since 1908, being the westernmost wine area of continental Europe and the smallest still-wine producing region in Portugal.

3rd DAY | THE VERY GOOD WINES OF SETUBAL |

Known for centuries-old tradition of winemaking region has to offer a diverse palette of wines that combine the quality of IG Península de Setúbal and Denomination of origin Palmela and Setúbal of the heritage that are testimony.
Located on the municipalities of Palmela, Setúbal, Montijo e Alcácer do Sal, this routes includes visits to wine cellars, wine tastes, gastronomy and handicraft, where each of them can be combined with activities as golf, karting, dolphin watching, boat trips or ridding bicycle, integrated on an extensive calendar of events.

Visit the city center of Setubal and his Livramento Market - the main fish and food market in Setubal.
Although it already out of the Historic Centre, this market is worth visiting, not only by the diverse trade that takes place there, but also by the building, Opened in 1930, with cast iron columns, huge panels of tiles inside represents decades of 30 until 40 and outside the Art Deco style.
In 2015 this market was elected by USA Today as one of the best fresh fish markets in the world.
Suggestion | Forte de Sao Filipe, Setubal Castle (free entrance)
The Forte de Sao Filipe stands high above Setubal and is one of the most notable landmarks of the region. Setubal castle has been painstaking restored and today is beautiful national monument this was made possible by the transformation of the complex into an exclusive hotel.

The tour starts in the Museum Room with a brief summary of the company's history. Then, after enjoying a walk through the lovely gardens, visitors have the opportunity of visiting three cellars.
The first is called Adega da Mata, where the famous Periquita matures in oak casks. We then proceed to the Teares Novos Cellar, venue of the sumptuous annual assembly of the Periquita Brotherhood, and finally we arrive at the Teares Velhos Cellar, where the oldest Setubal Moscatels rest in silence.
The tour ends with a tasting of 4 wines, a white wine, two red wines and a Setúbal Moscatel (dated).

4th DAY | WORKSHOP IN A CHEESE FARM AND WINE |
Starts the day in AZEITÃO | Here you can have a very interesting experience, that will allows you to discover the flavors of a very famous Portuguese cheese in a very traditional Cheese Farm.
The day will ends in a cruise on the Sado River with wine launch exclusive of fresh seafood on board served at the table. Wines from the best Cellars of the Setúbal peninsula will be at your table.

CHEESE FARM | Azeitão cheese is a traditional sheep cheese, originated in the region of Azeitão in the district of Setúbal. It's a protected designation of origin (DOP) in accordance with the standards of the EU. The history of Azeitão cheese dates back to the 19th century. The cheeses of Azeitão are extremely soft, having an aroma and flavor that reminds of local mountains and local flowers eaten by these sheep.
Visit these local Cheese Farm and take a workshop with the farmer where he will show you and teach all the required techniques to make this delicious and water mothering cheese!
At the end of this experience, you can taste the local flavors: Toasties, regional bread, fresh cheese, buttery Azeitão Cheese, homemade compote / chutney and Muscat wine.
WINE LUNCH | Seafood on Board*
Make a Cruise on the Sado River with wine launch exclusive of fresh seafood on board served at the table. Wines from the best Cellars of the Setúbal peninsula. this includes a passage along the beaches and coast of Arrábida and Tróia. The presence of the dolphins marks yet another unforgettable day.
* This program can be made between May and September. After those dates, the program includes a Wine tour with Wine tasting to Adega Mãe, in Torres Vedras, belonging to Wine Route of Lisbon. |
