On this day we explore the magnificent Quinta do Quetzal and the city of Beja.

On the first day, we begin by visiting Quinta do Quetzal in the region of Vidigueira. In this property of wines, we visit its Center of Contemporary Art, we will taste the Alentejo gastronomy and its wines.
In the afternoon take a trip back in time as you stroll through the Roman ruins of San Cocufate. Time for a visit to the historic city of Beja. |
PROGRAM
In the morning visit Quinta do Quetzal in the region of Vidigueira.
Visit the Quetzal Art Centre, a contemporary art exhibition space, is situated in a historically rich region, far away from the busy art world.
LUNCH WITH WINE TASTING AT QUINTA DO QUETZAL | At the Quetzal restaurant, where you will find delicious, healthy and rustic food, inspired by the Alentejo cuisine.
Included on this experience | Visit to the Cellar and Art Center Lunch with the harmonization of several wines produced by this Winery Offer of 1 bottle Guadalupe Winemaker's Selection to each one. Duration of the experiment: 6 hours (including the visit to the Roman ruins of Cucufate.
After lunch, time to a cultural and historical visit to the Roman Ruins of Cucufate and to the city of Beja.

2nd DAY | MONSARAZ, ALQUEVA LAKE AND WINE TOUR |
We continue to discover the Alentejo, with a visit to the village of Monsaraz and the largest artificial lake in Europe, the Alqueva. We also taste some of the best Alentejo wines. |
The discovery of the Alentejo begins with a visit to the charming village of Monsaraz. Then there is a boat trip on the largest artificial lake in Europe, the Alqueva, and a lunch of Alentejo flavors in one of the villages by the Alqueva. Visit the Herdade do Esporão, where the best Alentejo wines are produced. |
PROGRAM
Start your day with a visit to the enchanted medieval town of MONSARAZ.
Perched on the top of a hill, this little known village is a jewel in the crown of the Alentejo, if not Portugal itself. It is a small walled group of dwellings that carefully preserve their original charm complete with the original city walls and quaint streets. The inhabitants of the town take particular pride in maintaining its somewhat medieval atmosphere with its narrow streets that are in parts are quite steep as they fall away to the town walls.
Make a walking tour through the narrow streets to admire the littles white houses, full of flowers, and the amazing views over the Alentejo plains. Do not miss the local handcraft that will seduce you.
Before lunch, still time to experience a boat trip on the largest artificial lake in Europe, the Alqueva.
PROGRAM | Boat trip, circular tour, hour and a half, with guide and with regional Alentejo food taste, including wines.
LUNCH TIME | Free Lunch in a small village near the Alqueva Lake, and discover the amazing traditional local food.
After lunch, explore the great HERDADE DO ESPORÃO property. Guided tour to the Cellars and Wineries with a tasting of 3 wines.

3rd DAY | ÉVORA and COOKING CLASS |
Enjoy some free time to do some outdoor activities in one of the most emblematic Quintas do Alentejo. We visit the historic city of Évora, capital of Alentejo, rich in historical heritage. The day ends with an Alentejo cooking class, in a traditional house in the historical center of Évora.

Morning | Free time to explore the property of São Lourenço do Barrocal or to choose one of the several activities that are promoted there.
Afternoon | Visit Évora
We visit the following monuments:
Historic center with medieval white streets, Royal Palace (exterior only visit. The interior is used for temporary exhibitions), City Garden, St. Francis Church and Chapel of Bones, Geraldo Square, Gothic cathedral of the XIII century, Roman temple from the first century AD.
Afternoon | Have a cooking class in a traditional 18th-century family house in the historic Évora, near the ancient Jewish quarter.
The workshop consists of about 2 hours were you will cook lunch using the very traditional recipes and old techniques that really tell you about our culture and history. After cooking it is time to eat and flavor the food you made, enjoying a selection of wine for each meal.
This is not a show cooking, but a hands-on experience where you learn about Portuguese cuisine, its influences and traditions.
