Day 1 | TOMAR AND THE KINGTHS TEMPLAR HERITAGE
We depart from Lisbon to what is known as the Templar city and which houses one of the most important Portuguese monuments classified by UNESCO as world heritage: Tomar.

We start with a visit to the Convent of Christ. Tomar Castle and Convent of Christ, seat of the religious and military orders of the Temple and of Christ, was classified as a World Heritage Site and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983.

We continue towards the historic center of the city, where we will stop at the As Estrelas, a pastry shop to taste the traditional Slices of Tomar and Kiss Me Hurry sweets. Coffee drink included.

We continue our tour of the city. We will visit the Praça da Républica, the building of the Paços do Concelho, the magnificent São João Batista Church and explored the narrow streets full of stories and testimonies of a rich past.

Lunch at Casa das Ratas Restaurant

Casa das Ratas is one of the oldest establishments in the city, which opened its doors as a tavern and is today one of the most popular and popular restaurants in Tomar. The decoration still keeps the traces of tavern, with many kites around the room and the stone counter worn by the sliding glasses.

We started the afternoon with a visit to the Tomar Synagogue. A rare example of medieval Jewish temples and Portuguese pre-Renaissance art, the Tomar Synagogue is the only one of its time still fully preserved in Portugal. It was built in the mid-15th century on purpose for the religious function, which reveals the financial availability of the Jewish community here, its strength and its prosperity.

We end with a visit to a wine farm, Herdade dos Templários, were you will taste several wines accompanied by cheese and sausage tapas.

This restaurant has been in Tomar for 70 years and is proud to keep the spice from day one. Honest and seasoned food that inspires culinary pilgrimages from around the world.

Day 2 | SANTAREM, THE CAPITAL OF GOTHIC
We will continue in the morning to Santarém, capital of the Gothic. We will visit the Church of Grace and the Gates of the Sun; We’ll explore the narrow streets of the historic center and its numerous secular churches.

Visit the Municipal Market building, where you might appreciate the figurative tile facade. Dating back to 1930, at the risk of the architect Cassiano Branco, it replaced the open-air market which has survived for centuries at Vicomte Serra do Pilar square, known as the old square. In addition to the architectural language of the building, a remarkable set of fifty-five panels of figurative tiles and eight decorative panels ordered from the defunct Sacavém factory stand out. 

After these visits, we will enjoy some free time for a tasting of the typical pastries of Santarém. We would take a tour of the local pastries to taste the famous Pampilhos, Arrepiados de Almoster and Celestes de Santa Clara.

LUNCH | In one of the typical restaurants of Almeirim, where we will taste the famous and very tasty Soup of the Stone.

Afternoon | We continue our discovery of Ribatejo, with its unmistakable wines and cuisine.

A must see is the visit to the capital of Cavalo, the village of Golegã. 

In this Ribatejo village, you can visit the impressive Carlos Relvas House Museum.

This visit will be followed by a tasting of regional sweets in one of the most prestigious local pastries. We will taste the famous sweet Lusitano, among other delicacies.

After this well-deserved meal, nothing better than an outdoor horse ride through the Ribatejo fields.

Day 3 | FLAVOURS AND WINES FROM SALVATERRA DE MAGOS
In the morning we leave to another amazing and very typical rural village: Slavaterra de Magos. 

County surrounded by fertile horse-populated wetlands, once served for holidays and hunting of Kings. One of the most emblematic points remains the Chapel and the Royal Falconry.

We will visit the Royal Falconry. The art of Falconry in Portugal was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO - United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, on December 1, 2016.
Considered the noblest of the hunting arts, falconry was the hallmark of emperors, kings and princes from around the world.


Another highlight is the Cabana dos Parodiantes de Lisboa, a place with history on Portuguese Radio, where you cannot miss to taste the famous regional cake, O Barrete;

We will visit the exterior of 1920's Toiros Square, the Mother Church and the Chapel of Mercy;

LUNCH | The gastronomy of Salvaterra de Magos is entirely linked to the influences of Lezíria, Heath and the Tagus River!

Lunch will be in one of the typical local restaurants, where you will taste a variety of typical dishes, such as freshwater fish dishes: Shad, fataça and eel. There was also the famous meat dishes: lamb, lamb, pork and wild meat. The wealth of local sweets will also be part of your lunch.

AFTERNOON | Continuing along the Mouchão road, you will reach the Avieira do Escaroupim village. Typical fishing village on the banks of the Tagus River that was formed by fishing families from the northern beaches, who traveled during the winter months for fishing campaigns on the Tagus River.

Casa Tipica Avieira, made of wood, painted in bright colors and built on piles to protect the floods of the river, is now a mandatory place of passage.

Take a boat trip through the waters of the Tagus and discover stunning landscapes and colors, with migratory birds, fishing villages (Escaroupim), horses on the river banks and islands, among many other treasures.

We finish the day in the best way, with a visit to Quinta da Lagoalva,  a traditional wine farm, full of history, where we will visit the estate, with a visit to the vineyards and winery.

This will be followed by a wine tasting consisting of three wines, one monocasta and two Lot wines, conducted by one of the house's winemakers, accompanied by regional cheese and sausages.

Return to Lisbon.
